Very little of the UK is self-sufficient in income. Like most European countries the capital (& parts of the surrounding area) generates most of the national income, which is then partly redistributed around the rest of the country. 
So areas like the SW, the midlands, NW England can't get too resentful about Scotland's subsidy. 
Similarly, the vast oil wealth extracted from Scottish waters was not assigned as a Scottish subsidy to the rest of the UK...

The chance to see if it is actually a majority of the people of Scotland is very easy to take. If I were one of them, this characterisation of me as a small child screaming would only increase my resolve.Just conjure the image of a small child screaming, not because of what is happening to him/her but because of what they imagine is happening to someone else hundreds of miles away.Then, just possibly, you might appreciate the benefit of self-determination.

England have treated Scotland very nicely. They gave the Scottish nationalists a neverendum & they lost. They get a huge subsidy from the English taxpayer. The nationalist are given the earth & still they complain.They would bankrupt Scotland if they ever left. They are nothing better than a small child screaming it's not fair. Thank god the majority of the Scots see it as how it is.

Once again the Daily Mash is aligned with more mainstream news ...https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/19431578.euro-2020-will-scotland-get-bank-holiday-england-win/Looks like even if England gets a bank holiday Scotland won't but only because Scotland's bank holidays aren't decided by Westminster. I suspect this Monday will be a Bank Hangover Day irrespective of whether England win or not 🙂

Perhaps.  But I thought it was very funny that people here are asking for a bank holiday if England wins on Sunday.I also think that Westminster have not treated Scotland very nicely...

Scotland's favourite team has always been Anyone But England, who to be fair have often come out on top in the past!
