Peter Zinovieff R.I.P.

Times Obituaries today.  I believe Peter Zinovieff had an electronic music studio in a shed in his house in Putney.  “Electronic music composer and synthesiser pioneer who engineered sound for Pink Floyd, David Bowie and Kraftwerk”.  Passed away aged 88 on 23 June 2021.

Hi Michael! Sadly Jean remains a Long Covid  patient. Worst symptoms remain fatigue and dizziness. Thanks for asking.

The house in Deodar Road was his home and the shed in the garden his musical studio which unsurprisingly got flooded. My partner plays the synthesizer and was a huge fan of Zinovieff. When Jean first visited Putney 12 years ago the first place he wanted to see was where he lived! Hope a blue plaque is put up at some point.

Peter Zinovieff's daughter Sofka wrote the poweful novel "Putney" with echoes of her childhood in Deodar Road. She inherited Faringdon House in Oxfordshire from her grandfather Robert Heber-Percy. Her autobiographical book "The Mad Boy, Lord Berners, My Grandmother and Me" describes how this came about.
