Sounds like a total twat to me - but what has the Manchester Police got to do with Putney? If he (or you) had any empathy with the public, he would appreciate that "taking the knee" is not kneeling in subservience to anyone, but is a physical gesture of non-violent protest, expressing support for the rights of racial minorities. Many of us would make the same gesture yet expect, if we knelt down in public in front of our spouses in preference, to be simply laughed at.I wonder if, in London, we would expect Cressida Dick to kneel in front of her partner, Helen? Or is it Helen that should kneel in front of Cressida? The whole thing is a total distraction as is visible "bobbies on the beat" who have little effect on actual crime levels. Messrs Watson and Dick will be better able to fight crime if they have the full support of their various communities. This can only be obtained by gaining their support and respect. As the recent Daniel Morgan enquiry has shown, our London Police have come a long way since Stephen Lawrence, but have much further to go. You appear to want to stand in their way.
