Parking for NHS staff

I was not aware of this, but it appears that from June 21st free parking for NHS workers will end, as the government is set to scrap the scheme introduced last year. The issue is that NHS staff should be able to park free in NHS hospital staff car parks.

Only blue light vehicles are allowed through.I like the sound of a free NHS cat Andy, where do i get one?

Got nothing against the principle BUT if all staff get free on site parking whetevdonpatients and visitors park? I think it was only certain staff and have certainly seen cars on parking bays off parkside allowed free parking by Council if staff from Parkside hospital. To some annoyance ofvresidents shelling out for parking that is filled with free NHS cats ! Presumably when XR stop the traffic they let the NHS staff through ?

I wondered about the same thing.  Got to the conclusion that it is all made to confuse us all!The main problem with parking charges for NHS staff has been at hospital car parks.Whether the Council or the NHS Trust were to blame for "privatise" them I do not know.But, hand in heart, I do think the NHS staff deserve better treatment than the one they are getting at the moment.£252b lost to non-complied contracts anywhere?

Signed. Many hospitals seem to be difficult to get to on public transport, particularly given the hours often required by shift work, so it seems unfair even in normal times to charge staff for parking. Interestingly, about 30 years ago when I worked for NHS Supplies for a brief period if I visited an NHS site on business and had to pay for parking I could reclaim it as an out of pocket expense - although normally the local supplies department found somewhere near their delivery bays for me to park ... and sometimes I was delivering IT equipment!
