Proposed 18m Telecomm mast on Parkstead Road Green

Comments/Objections are open on a planning application for an 18 metre (60ft) telecomm mast to sit on the semi-circular green between Parkstead Rd and Pleasance Rd (Dover House Estate area) At 18m  the mast will tower over the existing trees and visually dominate the area .. the development is totally out of keeping with Dover houses conservation area status and the rules the dover house homeowners are expected to follow.  Please follow the link to view the planning application/to object https://planning2.wandsworth.gov.uk/planningcase/comments.aspx?case=2021%2f2179

Thanks Niccie. I live at no.11 Parkstead Road, right opposite where they are proposing to put this mast. Lots of objections going in. The DHR estate was given conservation status to preserve the green spaces dotted around- thus enhancing quality of life and preserving a sense of community, which the estate definitely has. They are saying that the mast ( three times the height of a lamppost) and it’s accompanying bases ( over 5ft tall) will blend in with its surroundings - a complete fallacy- and that there is screening. The mast is twice the height of the highest (deciduous) tree on the green. There are many families who live around the green and beyond, and it is a very well used ( more so than ever) and pleasant space.

Thanks for this. I have registered my objection on the grounds that the location is entirely inappropriate, and that the rationale for discounting other sites is completely illogical. They appear to have discounted one place because of its proximity to residential property but then have picked Parkstead Road, which also has close proximity to residential property ? They also appear to have discounted a school because of the children, but somehow missed the point that children also live and play in Parstead Road.

I know exactly where you mean. That's disgusting and I seriously hope you fight it tooth and nail and the telecom company gets told to do one!It's not even as though reception is bad along DHR.Good luck.
