nursery / childcare / child minders

Hi, I'm a bit new to this, but I just started looking at nurseries for my one year old (not now, more probably when she turns 2) and it seems everything is private with crazy prices but I might be missing something? Friends or mine in another council mentioned state nurseries at more reasonable prices, but I cannot find anything of the sort in Wandsworth. Generally speaking if anyone has advice or recommendations of good childminders / nurseries / child care places I'll really appreciate! Thank you

My grandson has started at Bright Horizons at West Hill we have put him in for two half days a week for now. A lovely little place and easy to get to. Also cheaper than the Putney branch. Council nurseries are often for children around 2.5-3yrs

Marc, both of my children went to Busy Bees by the Bridge, and I thought it was a wonderful nursery.  I think some parents used it for their children until they were able to go to a state nursery. My daughter is at Hotham Primary School and I think the nursery at Hotham is highly thought of by parents I know.  You maybe should contact the primary school closest to your home, as it will be most convenient for you.
To be honest, I have never heard any parent have a bad word about nurseries in SW15, so I think you will be fine whatever you choose.
