Good start to the day. Just had a mobile call purporting to be an official from the National Insurance dept. Told me they were going to withdraw my insurance number because.... I didn't wait for the rest of the message just put phone down

Re scam calls, just leave your answerphone on, and then when the caller gets a recorded message, they/he/she hangs up. Job done.

Yes, our voicemail says we never answer, leave a message; few do ...

Landline no longer used at our house. The landline ringer is on silent. The recorded message says this landline is not monitored, please contact us on our mobiles. When I occasionally clear the call lists there is never a legitimate message.

It might work on some.Mark Twain, allegedly:-“I once sent a dozen of my friends a telegram saying 'flee at once - all is discovered.' They all left town immediately.”

I would have quite liked to know the reason they could come up with for withdrawing anyone's NI number. Something I suspect has never happened to anyone.

We just received a "computer" one today. Firstly my wife took a call and quickly said no thanks. Then I got the next call, which was probably the same person, but on a revenge mission. An unedifying few minutes.
Landline and email.I am apparantly owed $2 million dollars in Sierra Leone, 4 by the Un and 20 by the US Govt. Plus many more. Probably forward half a dozen emails a week to the report phishing line.I do like the odd phone one though my record ti keep them going is 25 minutes. They ring about windows ( the computer system) I talk about windows ( front back upstairs etc) amazing if you say ok just checking the upstairs windows they will wait 5 or 10 minutes as they obviously believe they are on to a good thing . How many Kevins are there in Mumbai? 😁😁

We have received numerous scam calls on our landline. I have not been able to discover how to block them, sadly!

I was wondering about your comment re landline. I myself have never had a landline scam pretext, always by text or mobile phone. How do others on here receive them?

Haven't had this one, bu the number of them gets bigger and bigger. Almost all the landline calls we get now are scam artists, usually not very competent ones but it is annoying.

i've had one of those too.
