The current lot should just check back to what happened in 1997. The then government was chucked out smelling badly of sleaze, cash-for-questions and so on. The current chumocracy (and that is a very benign way of describing what is going on) will be judged by the sleaze factor just as much as its record on the pandemic, managing the post-Brexit economy, the Northern Ireland debacle and the rest.
