Simon, my husband received a text supposedly from Royal Mail saying they had tried to deliver to our home, but had been unsuccessful and that we should pay £2.99 (I think that was the amount) to get them to deliver again.
We thought it a bit odd because there was no card through our door saying they had tried to deliver. When you look online, everyone says it’s a scam.
What happens is, you contact them and give them your bank details for the delivery. They take the money, I suppose, but more important to note is that they will ring you later saying they are from your Bank and that there is a fraud taking place on your account, please transfer your money to a new safe account, etc, etc. It is a way to empty your bank account.
