Huge US infrastructure budget

I thought the point of refusing to join the euro and keeping the pound was to control our currency? If so, how come the yanks can print dollars but we can't print pounds?Boris and Rishi found the magic money tree a year ago — it's about time they spent some on useful stuff instead of just spaffing to their mates

Well, they can print unlimited amounts of USD and not care. Their military budget every year is near 10x that of the UK and they're operating a much larger Military and better equipped force than we are. And it's hard to justify spending £45 Billion on a national tracking app that would protect public health.
