Not sure the speed of the apology is a plus. Looks like a sign of panic either to an ill thought out decision ( but we are told it took 11 hours of negotiation to get there)  if it had been here thus forum would have filled with speculation about someone having something on her . Anyway it compounded the confusion we see in mainland europe.The jab is not safe for over 65s 2 weeks later it is safe but only for those over 55 ?! We dont want that jab, but will do our damnest to limit its availability to you.Etc etc

No Richard, I certainly haven't noticed EU leaders being swift to apologise for their mistakes, it should be a daily event!  Can you please remind me when Macron apologised for his disastrous vaccine scaremongering?  Thanks.

Fair point, Andy, and the EU has certainly made a pig's ear (another one for the 'Out of date sayings' thread?) of its vaccine handling. But haven't you noticed that, when European leaders make a mistake, they usually correct it straightaway, whilst here it usually takes a professional footballer to get the government to make a u-turn?
