Gosh, Barbara, yes there's a lot to worry about in life and you seem to be worrying about all of them except this one!Air pollution, sadly, is a serious issue that the Putney Society and many others have been campaigning against for several years now - and we have cleaner buses as a result.Diesel cars pump out a lot of nitrogen dioxide, a poisonous gas in high concentrations. All cars create tiny particulates that damage people's lungs, especially the very young and the very old. Asthma cases are on the rise, undoubtedly linked to air pollution. So do take the issue seriously. Where it should be ranked against all the others I can't really say but there are not many murders in Putney while premature deaths here, statistically speaking, run into dozens a year.
