But why only 15% Ed? Why not double nurses' pay? In exercises where the public are asked how much nurses should be paid the mean is something like £65,000. Why not that much? In fact, a nurse is of far more worth to society than a footballer. Why not pay them the same as Sergio Aguero? The Greens subscribe to the utter nonsense that because we have a central bank the state can print money with impunity, forever - so instead of a measly 15% pay increase, they should be demanding they're paid what they're actually worth...shouldn't they? After all, it's not as if the Greens would risk their credibility arguing for this - because they'd need to have some before they could lose it. In response to your original question (which was: are the Greens likely to do better, rather than whether a 1% pay rise is reasonable) they should do - I'm only surprised they're not doing better already.
