Putney bridge road / Putney high street junction

Does anyone know if the works here are permanently reducing the Putney bridge road approach to the high street from 2 lanes to one ?  It'll be carnage when we come out of lockdown if so.

It has been discussed at length here: the roads off the High Street are being modified to make Copenhagen crossings.

I think it is to do with temporary work for Thames Tunnel.

Just looked like utilities work when I walked past today. Lots of markings where they need to dig up the pavement. The narrowing looks like it’s just for pedestrians to get past the closed pavement.
