Meanwhile, the South West London Scrub Hub, a community volunteer effort (see story front page), run from the Bank of England Sports Ground has been providing thousands of scrubs, masks, and headbands to the NHS for over a year. This initiative is funded by voluntary donations and has had no government money.

"Its warning concerns a specific brand of FFP3 mask, which are more sophisticated than surgical masks and are worn in intensive care or when certain procedures are carried out that can generate aerosols.These are tiny virus particles that can build up in stuffy rooms and have been linked to outbreaks of Covid-19."I hope that means that they are checking all the equipment that comes in and dealing with reputable companies.  I remember a Panorama in the past about the quality (or lack of) i hospital equipment being shipped in from abroad.  Cheapest quotation does not necessarily mean up to standard.
