Hammersmith Ferry
On the Barnes site, somebody suggested using a ferry like they have at Hammertons Ferry Twickenham. But I think they would need something much more sturdy than that and the river is wider than at Twickenham. They also have small ferries at Raven Ait for taking people to the island for wedding receptions. On a high tide you can't always get under the bridge you have to wait till the tide goes down. I think you would need something a lot larger to take bikes and pedestrians.
