spend,spend, spend khan

£1.5 million to spend on fireworks with tax-payers money..  I'm sure lots of taxpayers could think of better things to spend it on, roads, NHS, police , foodbanks etc    It's quite a substantial sum..  Apart from which it was not at all joyous or uplifting.  I did not appreciate the political messages.A time and place for everything and that was neither the time or place..  Not a happy start to my 2021.

Poor Matt his best argument is to say that everyone who disagrees with him must read the mail.Last time I looked they didnt have a circulation of 17.4 million. Lazy argument to assume that way.Now if I suggested that all XR members were scruffy out of work layabouts Matt would be upset and explain how he washes everyday and has a job. Yeh on bbc 1. On the news between coronavirus anx brexit. Just put that  as it seems every subject has to mention brexit.Give it a rest it's over.

Was it on TV? Not that I really care, wouldn't have been the same as the previous couple of years - watching them from the rooftop of a block of flats in Islington with a group of friends. Not that that would have happened this year because of the person with the flat having to move back to the EU thanks to Brexit :-(I'd agree with Martine about preferring the Kinks or Squeeze - nothing against Adele or Alicia, just that it's more my era and I like the lyrics, particularly, Davies's short story type lyrics (although Lily Allen's quite good at that, eg LDN). A complete waste of money and an irrelevant gesture when the man is always pleading poverty and wants more of our money.In previous years the charge for entry into the centre has covered the cost, not this year. There also seemed to be quite a lot of people in on the secret.

I missed it too :(I thought it was cancelled so didn't look out the window.The problem with it being secret is that lots of people missed it - either on TV or from a distance. It's not the kind of thing you can play back either.A confusing gesture.Singers: I like Alicia Keys but Adele would have been my preference :)

I didn’t see any of it, but I understand Alicia Keys was singing about New York.  I would prefer they asked Ray Davies to sing “Waterloo Sunset” or Squeeze to sing “Up the Junction”.

They all cost a lot of money, each year.
