Watching this thread with curiosity as I have been ripped off by roofer cowboys twice, both of whom had worked locally and both had plentiful top rankings on checkatrade. (Now I only use those with membership of NFRC.) One did a reasonable job but forgot to finish it and left us a big hole ahead of a long weekend of rain, and the structural damage done by ensuing leaks as water poured in, pretty much wiped out any profits - they made good, luckily. All I will say is read your contracts carefully. Another one of mine had a contract including to “replace all roof tiles”. He did just that - re-placed my old tiles. Most he put back were fine but he also put back the broken ones, which subsequently leaked. Be very careful! I won’t comment further unless I recognise his name in a recommendation!
