Piano free to good home!

Does anyone want our upright Pleyel piano?  I am not sure how old it is, but probably 40-50 years old.  Needs a clean and a tune and has a few ivory (real ivory I suspect) key ends missing, but has a fabulous tone.  It never gets played anymore and is acting as a sort of glorified shelf.  It ought to go to someone who will use it.  You are welcome to come and see it first.
It will need transporting up a flight of stairs as it is in our basement.

The lovely young mother who took our piano brought Christmas dinner to us and, realising that my husband was ill, brought another meal on Sunday. An angel, I think.

I’m just going to reply to bump this up.This year reminds me of Ground Hog Day.Where Bill Murray (I forget the character’s name) eventually learns to play the piano.If next year is like this year it may be a good opportunity to learn to play.I would have had it unfortunately a kitten has taken up all the excess space.

www.trashnothing.com is an alternative interface for Freecycle and Freegle which I believe is easier to use.  You choose your area.  The great thing about Freecycle is that the onus is on whoever it is who wants something to take it away.  It is your choice who you give it to.

Encouraged by a grand daughter posted our piano on Wandsworth Freecycle. Good response and it has gone to a really lovely family.

Have you tried local schools? We had an excellent upright piano which we couldn't shift until it was suddenly snapped up by  the Duchess of Argyll, carried off by a vast van from Aberdeen Longshoremen. You have to get lucky sometimes!
