Megan

Very sad but as they have moved to America and don't want any publicity, why are we hearing about her miscarriage now as it happened in June. You either don't want publicity, or you do. We hardly ever see her little boy.

It is a very difficult and painful subject and it is good that it is being talked about.  The secrecy and later revelations can't help anyone.  BTW I remember Meghan and Harry saying two children but that is a whole new subject except for the fact that it can be incredibly difficult and painful for some parents to achieve that.  Andy's post was very helpful with the numbers known.  Times change and will change hopefully for the better.

Thank you, Andy. Like you, I'm not at all interested in the royal family but Meghan is grieving and has written to express what too many parents feel or have felt. Ignorant comments on this should be treated with the contempt they deserve.

Many years ago I had a cot death at 2 weeks. Police investigated and eventually took baby away, after treating me as a criminal as unexplained death.Years later my 2 elder children aged 5 & 3 at the time of the happening, told me they had thought for years that the police took you away when you died.If people had talked there would have been more understanding.  As it was it was the whole subject was never referred to and 'put away'.There are some things you just never forget.

BarbaraA loss at anytime in a pregnancy is still a loss and still hurts terribly.The baby loss charities are desperately trying to get mums who suffer loss to 'break the silence' and rid us of the taboo. The fact that others choose not to is their choice but Meghan has bravely spoken out az a mum not as a royal or an ex royal and not trying to gain anything. She will, by her actions, empower many more to speak out and break the silence and in doing help their long term recovery.

I remember about 55yrs ago my cousin gave birth to a little boy Paul. I sat there on Christmas Day throwing a little ball to him sitting on the floor, he was born with Heart problems. He died on Boxing Day,he was only a year old, so no comments that I don't have feelings. My mother had still births before she had me.

I just typed this out and lost it all.The point is Princess Ann's daughter and Kate have lost babies and many other Royals. Why has Meghan just started telling everybody when they don't want publicity. We never see their little boy. Also if you have only been pregnant a couple of months it's different to going nearly full term or having a still birth.

Thank you Andy for your caring comment.Yes, baby loss must be spoken about openly and without shame.  The pain endured after the baby loss is excruciating.Well done Megan!

Good article and well done Meghan for speaking about it. I dont care about her royalty. Shes a mum that's just lost her child and is speaking about it . Not for gain but to help all those other mums that suffer in silence and carry the taboo that we dont talk about babyloss. Well we bloody well should. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage and 14 babies are still born everyday  in this country alone. As recently as 40 years ago the foetus/ baby would be taken away for the hospital to deal with and mum and dad packed off home to 'keep the secret'. Thousands do not know what happened to their child and carry the guilt. We must have the conversation we must help the mental healing of baby loss by talking about it. It's not mums fault and it's not dads fault but it bloody well hurts and needs healing.Well done Meggan and all those other brave mums and dads who are talking. That's all she is ...a mum thats hurting.❤

But as everyone says they're no longer part of the Royal Family so a press release in the same manner wouldn't make sense and only be slammed the other way.Now what I find weird is I swear they said they were only going to have 1 baby due to climate change/over population?

Yes it's sad for them, as it for the many many other women who have had miscarriages.  Zara Tyndall has suffered two and Sophie Countess of Wessex has also had one.  The vast difference between them and MM is that their loss was announced in a dignified press release and not via a dramatic piece written for a national newspaper.

I kind of disagree. I think they're always going to be in the public eye and I do think this is a good use of their publicity to highlight miscarriages and how common they are.
