Conservators Election 10th March 2021
I very much hope that as many Putney people as possible will think about running for election as a WPCC Conservator. Applications will need to be submitted and registered six weeks before the election date. The arrangements for election have just been announced and can be see on their website - https://www.wpcc.org.uk/downloads/media-releases/wpcc-media-statement-november-2020.pdf. There is also a piece on the SW15 main page.Putney levy-payers, including from Roehampton, pay the majority of the levy. The board currently is dominated by Wimbledon trustees, so we need to work to even the balance. Last time there were in excess of 60,000 electors. If you’d like to know my personal take on what is involved in being a Trustee do get in touch - ncsevans@gmail.com. Surprisingly there is no mention in the WPCC media release of Chief Executive Simon Lee, who has now been absent from work for at least six months. The only announcement has been a brief mention by the Chairman at the online Open Meeting held in June that he gave apologies and was on “sick leave” . Only 57 people were accessing the Zoom meeting at the time. There has been nothing on their website, despite my request for a public statement. Nick
