How times change: the Redcliffe Square flat I shared with three others in the 1970s was circa £35 per week; fast forward to June 2016 and a two bedroom flat is offered for £2,250,000! I also found out at a BAA lecture in Armagh last year that Agnes Mary Clerke - a founder membef of the BAA who was an Irish astronomer and writer on both astronomy and biography - lived at 68 Redcliffe Square at the start of the 20th century, almost next door to where I lived in the 70s. So Redcliffe Square has gone from posh to a mixture of bedsits and posh then back to all expensive and posh again …
