It's so sad and such a waste. Difficult to comprehend it happening early evening at Southside, it must be devastating for relatives and friends.

Nick, I agree it really is heartbreaking.  I don’t know any more details.  Joseph was 15, last time I saw him, a while ago, he had grown into a fine young man.  
It is a totally senseless crime — how does a family recover from this.

This is absolutely heart breaking. Do you know whether he was known to the attackers Martine? I see three males have been arrested. I cannot believe these kind of things are happening in our society. One really must have serious issues to carry a knife and even consider using it.

I found out yesterday that the boy, Joseph, who was murdered was in the year above my son at Hotham.  I am so upset for his loving mother, Natalie.  This is a terrible tragedy.
The attack took place at 5 pm outside Sainsburys Garratt Lane, when there would have been plenty of people about. The story is on the Evening Standard online. I can’t believe it.  Joseph had his whole adult life ahead of him.  His family must be devastated.
