US food standards vs ours/EU’s
I came across this article written back in January. NOT more Project Fear / Fake News paranoia. A few paragraphs down in this report reveals the fact that 16% of Americans suffer from food poisoning, vs 1% in UK. This is science, not PR. Low income households will suffer the most as they will go for the cheapest option and any US imports will sell on price not quality hence the political interest in accepting them in the first place. The terms of any FTA with the US, and the terms of the Agriculture Bill now going through Parliament should be a concern to all of us.
