We have one just like that. He regards our little garden and next door’s as his personal territory and comes just as close as yours has done whenever I have one of my infrequent bouts of gardening. Just great to see!

A lovely story Freddie and picture Michael.There is something special about them that gives one a lift. Sparrows can be more familiar with regards to proximity but the feeling is just not the same.I thought their numbers were up recently from my personal observations but apparently down last year.

Chatting at the garden table one sunny afternoon some years ago when my daughter was about eight, a robin landed on her head mid conversation. She wasn’t even aware of it. It would have been the most magical photograph if a camera had been to hand. Quite a special moment.
