So, if I can sum things up,* May’s plans for a British version of the Galileo GPS navigation system have been junked, wasting £92 million (the Daily Telegraph);* The government then invested £400 million in buying a chunk of the bankrupt OneWeb company (the BBC and many other news outlets); * The investment in OneWeb was made against the advice of government advisers (Computer Weekly); * This great idea (lol) was evidently all the plan of would-be genius Dominic Cummings (the FT); and* The company's attempt to build a GPS navigating system was called into question by experts consulted by the parliamentary Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee (Computer Weekly again).It would be hard to find a worse example of a self-inflicted mess
