Richard et al. Jones's posts are facile and, troll or not, they're intended to be objectionable but, while probably inconsequential, he's certainly generated a reaction. However, it does raise serious points. He's reposted a Tweet and social media is full of such items but I'd consider him (if its not a false identity and not a "her" or someone on the LGBQ+ spectrum, we can't be sure) fairly harmless. But Brenna L does raise a much more serious point. There are some rude posts on this forum, although despite exasperation with some of the reactionary views, many of us attempt to remain civil and stick to facts, rational argument and reasonableness in our posts. However, that's possibly because some of us have met or know other forum members (or get moderated by spouses, partners or friends!) whereas responses on the broader internet can be much more threatening and intimidating; particularly towards women, LGBQ+ and other sections of the population. Hence, I've no objection to someone being partly anonymous for that reason provided they're open about it and the website managers know their real identity - in fact, from a professional perspective I might consider that sensible and recommend it.
