The man that's been arrested looks a right state, probably got arrested on purpose to get a meal. Who would follow somebody like that, extinguish.

Not sure how much sympathy the general public will give XR in the midst of a pandemic that is costing billions of £s and thousands of lives.Maybe the timing is a bit off but clearly they have been locked down for so long they feel the need to be disruptive. Pots and pans af the ready chaps

I think the point of it is to raise awareness on the issue and get the government to take the matter seriouslyWe are meant to be a first world country, with this come responsibility (not just wealth)We should be setting an example, so if we take the matter seriously then other countries will and so onBut i think other countries are taking it more seriously than usI think that the first thingOnce our government take it seriously this opens the doors to constructive conversationAnd so onThe other obvious reason is to get people like you and i asking what is it about, and then to read up more about the issues and form an opinionThat is my understanding anywayI cannot say i agree sometimes with how the protests are executed, but i do think that they have valid pointsx

Hey Matt, serious question, what is the point apart from making you and your group feel better about yourselves.  Most of us don't even know what's going on and what these demos are for.I'm not trying to put it down, but we need more info.  Thanks.

The more confrontational people have created a new group called 'beyond politics'. They are really hardcore.there was certainly some talk at the start about XR being involved with the million man march but i'm pretty sure it's not the case. That said i'm on hols in France so a bit out of the loop!

Last nights London news stated it was a joint march for XR and BLM. Have read recently that XRs fragmented leadership is pulling in different directions with some looking for a more confrontational approach. Lets hope not

Hi Sue, I dont think there's anything too disruptive planned. Everyone is well aware that there's a pandemic on! There's a few things planned around Wandsworth this coming weekend. The main 'event' is a march to parliament on the 1st September but although there's some talk of a blockade i dont think its very realistic or part of the central plan. Rather than large scale disruption I believe that each day within the two weeks there will be a protest outside a different building to highlight issues etc. No doubt there will be a few surprises but all in all much less disruptive than previous 'rebellions'.  The main focus really is to get the goverment to pass the 'CEE' bill, more of which you can learn about herehttps://www.ceebill.uk/
