[Montains of] Litter in Richmond Park

Last month I read this press release and was astounded. https://www.royalparks.org.uk/media-centre/press-releases/lockdown-litter-up-by-a-third-as-the-royal-parks-collects-20-london-buses-of-rubbish-in-june-alone On Nextdoor, there is a long thread was started yesterday on this same subject. I cannot understand why this is happening.  I never noticed rubbish in Richmond Park prior to coronavirus.  You could see full litter bins, but the litter was in the bins, not left behind wherever. I cheekily commented "I wonder if cars should be allowed to return to Richmond Park; it seems to me this is the only difference and perhaps they unintentionally acted as unofficial wardens?" Surprisingly, nobody bit my head off!

"why is there so much more litter today than before coronavirus?"More people are using the outdoors to meet up now that indoor places have restriction or are closed.On the plus side - meeting outdoors will help stop the spread.

I do not know if Parks Police go round more often than before.  Perhaps they go on horseback?   The main question must be why is there so much more litter today than before coronavirus?  Is it that nobody cares anymore?

Parks Police drive around the park, or have they been made too walk. Or get on their bike.

No one has mentioned law enforcement!I wonder how many people have been fined?Probably the same number of dog owners and cyclists who break the law.
