Brightside-Conservative Council Election Propaganda

In 299 days there will be local elections across the Country and this morning I received copy of Brightside, distributed to 140,000 households across the borough. Inside, 7 Conservative Councillors are featured and to be fair some information of interest. However, is this an acceptable use of our Council Tax in such times when funding for essential services will be squeezed?What can possibly be the budget for this distribution?

I agree about the Guardian, but Brightside is just a PR exercise for the local council imo.

I now get the wandsworth guardian (times) online. I watch a show called Patriot Act on Netflix and it made me think about how we must support our local newspapers as it is often the first to give you key news and possibly one of the last bastions of accurate journalism without propaganda.

I liked the hard copy...just the right size for Tom's (now deceased) kitty litter tray.

Looking at this from another direction.There is an online version of Brightside which I receive via email.Sadly it appears that there is no way of opting out of the hard copy that is pushed throughthe letter box, irrespective of any No Junk Mail requests etc.It would be greener and possibly cheaper if we could opt out of the hard copy!
