Making an omelette - one of several tasks to check compatibility of the couple's compatibility at an Austrian wedding. (And that of long married guest couples!) It was between the service and wedding breakfast; perhaps it should be at the start of the day? Tradition versus the modern with an absent friend's appearance by Skype from Australia during the speeches. Makes a change from other weddings - the bride's father getting the groom's name wrong when toasting the newlyweds; the best man shocking the maiden aunts by letting slip the couple had been "living in sin" prior to the wedding; the bride's mother saying "I haven't seen you since ..." and us all silently completing the " ... since her last wedding" in our minds; confusion over the rings when I'm sure the best man was the one really married to the bride ... https://flic.kr/p/2j2vScK
