No indictable criminal offences were deemed to have taken place but most of the worst of them (Goodwin for example) never worked again. Of course with his pension he didn’t need to but others became persona non grata in the City. A byproduct was huge job losses across the banking sector. I’m not saying hug a banker but they were also victims. Some of those guilty of gross mismanagement, hubris, greed, reckless behaviour etc had to leave the City because nobody would touch them.
