Maxine, I see you have a sensible and pragmatic approach to the lockdown and furlough.  But there is not excuse for these idiots.If I was PM (ha ha) I would put an indelible stamp on the hand of anybody who blatantly breaks the rules in large gatherings and then deny them their furlough pay.  OK, bit strong I know because then we will have feral people roaming the streets and attacking and robbing everyone... oh and we're sucking more out of police budgets... and I would be accused of being fascist.Sorry, just going of on one, I've seen all the films about feral behaviour on the streets in the future and how things can out of hand so quickly, but I think we should pay attention to the fact that it may be starting right now.

I can tell you from personal experience that furlough is tough. Just because we have been lucky enough to have good weather it doesn't mean that we have all had a holiday.  A big drop in pay, the mental trauma of the sudden and unexpected nature of it and the stress put on oneself "to make the most of it". To have the time to tend the garden because of the weather and not have to rush back from the city to cook etc is nice but I am also fully aware that many jobs would have been lost without the scheme including many people where I work.

There obviously was a serious problem but the leader of the Council explained on the PM programme on Radio 4 that 'major incident' is a technical thing which gives you swift access to more and better emergency services.So not quite as dramatic as it might sound but the idiots on the beach need certifying.

The furlough scheme has been both brilliant and foolhardy.  A lot of people are treating it as one long holiday, especially now the good weather is here.  Get them back to work to try and save the businesses that employ them.  If the economy doesn't get moving again many of these people will have no jobs to return to.

Not just Bournemouth, Southend as well, perhaps the sooner people go back to work it will give them something else to do. What are they meant to do if they live in flats, it's the little children I feel sorry for as it's so busy they could easily be lost in the crowds.
