Military Helicopters Over Putney

Has anyone noticed the increased number of Army helicopters travelling over Putney recently? Sometimes 3-4 times per day in groups of up to 4. Some have been chinooks and some smaller military copters, but does anyone know why?Thanks

Going back to the original post, there's no confusion about helicopters when they fly over, the Police ones are annoying but don't give you that thrumming in your breastbone that the Army ones do..... and I do wonder why they have been flying over.

Most impressive is when the SAS fly their Ospreys over London. They really do seem like science fiction!

It was a police helicopter, presumably as part of the incident that finished in a crash on Putney Hill.

Glad you mentioned Macron (bit of relief) because I really don't like when the Chinooks fly over, feel like I'm in Apocalypse Now.Also btw, I have been banging on and complaining about this for years, the official helicopter route is along the Thames, but they always seem to take the short cut across Barn Elms and the Wetlands.  I know the Wetlands have complained for years as it disturbs nesting birds.

It does seem to have been over the last weeks though, pretty much daily I've seen the helicopters.

It flew over  West Putney too - Macron flying back to Northolt probably.

There was very loud helicopter noise yesterday evening in East Putney.  Couldn't see anything but it sounded like it was flying quite low.  My thought was perhaps it was searching for somebody.

Training flights. They go over the river from Putney. With the Chinnocks (sic) is to prepare to drop troops off in the event of a hostage/prolonged event. The Apache helicopters, not too sure.
