Lucky enough to be able to get out in the garden in time to see The Red Arrows and the Patrouille de France fly right over the house at low level. Quite unexpected to say the least but spectacular! All for Macron.

I hope so. The Queen doesn’t meet many people nowadays who are actually older than her. I hope they give him the works - flypast, marching band, corgies...

I'm going slightly off topic now. Colonel Tom's investiture is taking place at Windsor Castle on Friday and the Queen will be conducting the ceremony outside, does anybody know if is there going to be another flypast?

Did you miss out on the RAF's 100 years anniversary flypast? A formation of 22 Typhoon's making up the number 100.

They've done it before over Paris. I should imagine it's pretty simple. It's a standard chevron. The rear team just tucks in and follows.

The Red Arrows are always fabulous but this display together with their French counterparts was in another league. How and where did they practice it beforehand i wonder? Does anybody know?

It was quite a spectacle. 18 aircraft flying in tight formation. Not Ive ever seen before. I just wish I'd known in advance and been able to video it. I'm lucky in that I could just dash out of my office door to see it, my family were inside the house and too late getting outside even though they heard the very loud noise. Our house must be directly in line with the Mall. Quite often get the tail end (no pun intended) of flypasts but they normally come the other way. This was completely overhead.
Freddie I am so jealous. Just watched it on YT and it was truly magnificent! I had to smile at all the macho excitement shown by Boris and Macron at the end, big boys toys lol.Boris Johnson and Emmanuel Macron watch RAF Red Arrows and La Patrouille...https://youtu.be/IxcIvh9q-4Y
