Several stickers have appeared in my road in West Putney, off Howards Lane. Neighbours are checking on each other and removing them. Thanks to the editor for putting the item on the front page.

Perhaps there is a bit of subliminal messaging or hypnosis going on!The impression I'm getting from local websites is that people seem to be losing more keys than normal. It is wise to leave a spare set of keys with a trusted friend or family.

@the editor. Well the man that put it on my door did all the doors on our side of the road (via door camera). No checking the house out and deciding ours was vulnerable in any way. Add to that, on your competitor’s forum nextdoor.co.uk someone called the number and was satisfied they were genuine. Another poster had the experience of using them and being subsequently charged an exorbitant amount for a call out. That may be the extent of the scam. Why don’t you call them and report back? A bit of journalistic investigation! Is that what an editor does? They do in publishing.

Went back to the police this afternoon who are adamant that it is a scam - now sent the link that you provided!

Phew! What a relief. Not all the houses in my road have received a sticker, so I wonder how these thoughtful locksmiths decided whom to help.

Not a scam. My door cam spotted the guy doing the sticking and he was just doing all the houses, but... apparently they charge rip off prices for call-outs.
I was just about to post about this as we have had them all up our street too.to be clear, it's not a scam!!The article on the front page says the number isnt genuine but I just rang it and it takes you to a genuine locksmiths company. There's also an article in the standard about ithttps://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/mystery-of-burglar-s-markers-unlocked-8953772.html
