Putney pier fish and chips

anyone know if they are open? And whether they are still cash only or are taking cards...thanks!

yeah, they are deffo 'ok'. I'd like to go to Fresh by the station but then i also like to eat fish and chips by the river (without going to Fulham)maybe i'm just too awkward lol

I tried their fish and chips (twice) over the last few weeks and on both occasions the fish was not fresh (and rubbery) and the chips were decidely average. I have since switched to Fishers just over the bridge in Fulham and found their food to be excellent.

we went to Putney Pier last night, they have a counter (basically desks) set up in front of the actual counter so that nobody can get to close to each other. They also had a sign up saying no more than two people at a time. Food was good, still cash only but we took hand sanitiser for after handling the change. I would consider a tip but food is very overpriced, dont get me wrong, its nice food but not amazing.

Yes, that's our dream too.  Yesterday we had  'home-made' fish and chips courtesy of  Waitrose. Shouldn't have bothered!

Deliveroo also have a collection option.  I have used it recently for pinto Thai near me when I’ve gone for a green chicken curry.  Putney pier don’t seem to do that, as fish and chips is fairly quick to serve I would think there’s less point.Just as an option if you don’t wish to handle change you could always leave it as a tip - I’m sure would be appreciated ;-)

yeah but i want to eat my fish and chips by the river and I dont live near there lol.also deliveroo take something like 30% of the cost from the retailer, if you want to help local business better to order direct where you can.

Beware though Lucille that your order may not arrive as hot as it should be.  I haven't used Deliveroo but have used Uber Eats quite often and found it's a bit hit and miss in that respect.  You can track the delivery on the website and sometimes the drivers don't appear to take the shortest route and if the food arrives half cold there is nothing you can do about it.

I walked past today and looked as if they were open, the door was open and I saw a couple of people going in.  Maybe staff??  Don't know.

They are on the deliveroo platform. You set up an account with Delivereoo who pay the retailer, no money or card needs to be used for each purchase.www.deliveroo.co.uk

food is ok, i suspect there's better elsewhere but location is good for a short walk down to the river. no idea if they are open but they only really do takeaway so i would have thought they would be. only issue i have is that i think they are cash only, i dont want to use a cash machine and i dont really want to handle cash. nice bit of contactless would be fine for me!
