Khan On London Transport Workers Dying From C-19

Was listening earlier to Khan on LBC speaking to Shelagh Fogarty. She is one of the leftie  presenters he is happy to speak to, along with James O'Brien and Eddie Mair, who all give him soft interviews. Unfortunately he will not agree to an interview with Nick Ferrari because historically NF asked Khan some uncomfortable questions that he didn't like.Anyway back to today.  Fogarty was quizzing Khan about the 21 London Transport workers, 15 of them bus drivers, who have sadly died from Covid-19. Apart from inadequate coronavirus protection on the buses and the lack of PPE it is now apparent that the buses are not being properly cleaned and sanitised  Why is this vital cleaning not being done?  Khan had his perfect answer. According to him it's because a lot of the cleaning staff are off sick with C-19 symptoms, or not at work because they're in the shielded category. So there we have it. The disproportionately high death rate of bus drivers is the fault of the cleaners!  Phew, nothing to do with Khan's negligence after all. That's alright then.  Carry on Khan. Did you know that Khan's Dad was a bus driver? Never heard him mention that before.🙄

Shocking that Khan was only included in Cobra meetings from the 16th of March.Why wasn't he invited earlier?That looks like the government was playing party politics.On the congestion charge the government are giving conflicting advice - use your car but we will reinstate the congestion charge.So it looks to me we have a bad government and Khan is playing catch up.Interesting that the Liverpool Mayor was being more proactive around PPE. I wonder if the Mayors have regular meetings among themselves - I have to reseach that.

Yes Ed balls I don't think. he blamed everybody else. He could not explain why the Police will still have to pay as they do not appear to be key workers, also why it is now 7 days a week and till 10 at night.

If there are people being furloughed, why can't they be asked to help with things like bus cleaning?  I do understand that it may affect their furlough pay, but surely something could be worked out?Same with fruit and veg picking, there are many essential jobs around that cannot be done due to lack of people.

Haven't read the rest of your post as  if its about TfL it's always  a Khan hating one Sue, but his father being a bus driver was known throughout his mayoral campaign. I think even the Daily Mail and Sky News must have mentioned it at the time.
