The plan

Seems the Boris plan out of lockdown wasn't that bad as Jimmy Krankie in Scotland seems to have come up with the same one (excluding schools) hot on the heels of N Ireland following suit. Just the Welsh to go now although they could be breing political . No dread the thought.

To behonest I'm not sure this is deliberate massaging of statistics. I suspect it might just be chaotic communications caused by lack of planning because of incompetent leadership.

"beaches and ignoring the 2 metre rule"It is only 1.5m in Germany and 1m in other parts of Europe.There is talk about standardising the distance but apparently there is too much red tape!

I wondered the same and whether that was why you don't use your full name. Not a criticism, just a query. The issue around using full names on the forum has come up recently in connection with someone else.

No I have 5 friends who are all doctors (A&E, gynae, plastics & old people - name forgets me) who have all been working on CoVid in different hospitals in the country and we have Zoom calls. Interestingly some hospitals have been very quiet and those out of London (Oxford being one) say they are less busy than normal as they've been pulled off their regular surgeries etc to help out with CoVid.

We are both waiting for the results of the NHS test which we were sent on Monday. But as far as I'm aware these tests only illustrate if you have the virus on the day you take it. An antibody test might give us more answers. As far as we were concerned Jean has  never been isolated in one room on his own at all so how I've escaped I don't know, but am relieved (for myself at least!)

Also I've had households (doctors) who have all had it, all been tested positive and all have different symptoms. Some bed ridden for days, some just not feeling too good.

Lucille, I hate to ask this but could it be you have also had it, without symptoms?  Have you been tested?  It’s supposed to be highly infectious.

Actually unsure my name is OK on the top as I write the comment. The whole point of lockdown was to protect the NHS we've done that. There are c. 50 new cases a day in London at the moment: the chances of people in Southend catching it are so so small. Individual groups are 1.5m from another. There are larger groups than 'one additional member' granted but that quite frankly is ridiculous right now.  Should other places be open (even within reason e.g. limit capacity in pubs) it would have stopped the quantity of people going to the beach.

It's even stranger for those of us who have lived in isolation with someone who has the virus and shown no symptoms at all (fortunately)I'm not sure I believe anyone who says they've had it mildly - they could have had another virus completely or are  jumping on a bandwagon eg  'look at me - I've had the virus and I'm fine'!

Jean still hasn't recovered fully. After thinking the virus had gone and I'm seriously concerned that he  may develop ME as a result. His temperature  is above normal but not at fever level, he has awful aches and pains, the fatigue means he sleeps  more during the day than he is awake but then some nights can't sleep at all.My mother had ME  way back in the 60s and from what I remember  it destroyed  her life and consequently affected mine badly too as I was only 12  when she first became ill after  what the GP thought was a bout of glandular fever. She never fully recovered.

There was a doctor speaking about this on LBC recently and I think it was this man.  LBC have regular medical hours with various doctors taking the calls and I've heard some others saying the same.  It's a very scary virus and the symptoms of extreme fatigue and felling wiped out are very much like those of ME which can last for years, and sometime for life.

The app is only one element of what should be a planned and managed system to T-T-T-I. Yes, if people are in close proximity to one person in a tube carriage they should be traced, isolated and tested until their CV19 status is known. The app won't be available if tracing starts 1/June. I think a second Beta is going to the IoW. The app is never going to work. One person in a tube has it so everyone self isolates? What about the people that don't download it or fake symptoms.We've done what lockdown was for: protected the NHS. Time to open things up.

It looks to be going in the right direction thanks to the lockdown but we do need a properly planned and managed test, track, trace, isolate system now ...

New infection rates going down daily, particularly in London.  Seems good to me.  I just hope all the idiots flocking to the beaches and ignoring the 2 metre rule doesn't result in a second spike.
