I'm not surprised you weren't aware of it, we weren't either: the announcement was made only two days before, and considering that Florence Nightingale was born 200 years ago, you'd have thought they could have managed a bit more notice.But for me the real issue is that these things, the Thursday clapping etc, are a cheap and easy substitute for the government, instead of properly paying staff and investing more in the NHS.
