Stag Brewery site

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has called-in the controversial application to redevelop the Stag Brewery site in Mortlake due to the lack of affordable housing and concerns about road traffic measures. No real surprise here considering the track record of WBC. I wonder what the real story behind the council approval is, perhaps we shall never know.

The boundaries are very confusing, Dyers Lane on Upper Richmond Road, Sainsbury's side is Wandsworth but the other side is Richmond.

The Stag Brewery site is a bit of a nightmare development for residents in Barnes. The knock on effect of the increase in traffic will spill over into Putney, just as at the moment traffic from elsewhere which would have gone over Hammersmith Bridge increases the pollution locally.

They share services yes but decisions made by the committees are specific to their own Boroughs. WBC and Richmond are independent bodies with regard to elected representatives and the political infrastructure.

I thought Richmond and Wandsworth now share services. I guess that excludes planning.

It is only just over the borough boundary.  And will impact our ability to drive to the A3 when built and populated (by virtue of more traffic).  Plus the school as mentioned before.

But its Richmond not Wandsworth.  The proposed secondary school could be great for the area (including Putney).

The lack of transparency in a number of areas in the UK is shocking.I'm sure someone will say we are better than some countries but that's no reassurance!
