Car parking restrictions

Not an issue that affects us directly, but I've been trying to find out whether the normal parking restrictions still apply: someone on Next door said unequivocally that "Parking permits are not needed at present what with the current situation. All parking restrictions are suspended until further notice."Sounds authoritative, but I went to the Wandsworth website to try to confirm, but all it says in the coronavirus FAQs is this:Is the Council continuing to enforce parking restrictions?- Yes. However, the Council is taking a sensible approach to enforcing parking regulations, focusing efforts where there is an obstruction or road safety concern.So are they still in place, or not? Anyone know?

Andy, I looked at the FAQs and they were not helpful (see my OP).  However, later information (is this what you were referring to?) is clearer, for example this:"... enforcement activity will focus on the more serious ‘higher level’ contraventions and incidents of obstructive or dangerous parking that could have a more significant impact on safety and traffic flow. This will include yellow lines at junctions, loading restrictions, zig zags at crossings and obstruction of dropped kerbs.Residents with permits in controlled parking zones (CPZs) will be permitted to park on single yellow lines without penalty. Exceptions are where there are safety risks e.g. corners of junctions, across dropped kerbs and on double yellow lines. Different Councils will be different.  I've read about special dispensations for health workers in one of boroughs but they had to be applied for.

Alternatively look ar the councils website that gives clear information on parkkng and enforcement.  Look up FAQS under coronavirus and also the updated part.

I'd also like to know the definitive rule.Whilst my car has been sitting outside for best part of 2 weeks (must start it soon to charge battery), I will need to go into Putney later in the week.Traffic wardens are not "key essential workers" so one imagines are required to stay at home...the police can enforce irresponsible parking eg: double parking, blocking roads, parking on corners etc...As for the residents only streets one would like to assume that their cars are like mine in lockdown therefore spot secured.

In the article on the front page http://www.putneysw15.com/default.asp?section=info&link=http://neighbournet.com/server/common/conwandcoronaparking001.htm the Council is giving  health workers dispensation and extended the grace time for other from 5 minutes to 20 minutes.... so enforcement is carrying on
