5G towers

Does anyone know if Putney will be getting 5G towers installed and if so what are there locations?

BT seem to think they have sufficient spare capacity. It possible with everyone at home the extra demand and existing load is spread more evenly round the clock? What do you call slow? On Wi-Fi I’m getting around 40mbps depending on where you are in the house. Wired around 70mbps.

Fast Broadband in Putney would be far better.I know that rural areas need broadband - but the low speeds in Putney are ridiculous!

More information? Are you being serious? Like a list of all the inanimate objects you cant catch the virus from  a 4g tower, the Eiffel Tower, Nelson's column,the roof of the British library , the sistine chapel, etc etc Dont matter how much information given you have to accept these people are thick

The damage to the 5G towers is beyond belief.  I do not know if they are gullible, ignorant or stupid.  I tend to think there is nothing between their ears!

Slightly off the original topic, but I'm astounded that anyone would  be gullible, ignorant or stupid enough to believe a link between CV-19 and 5G. As noted in the article, Iran doesn't have 5G, bet at the moment they wished they did have such modern communications. At a time when we all, and the emergency services in particularly, need good, efficient communications this is the worst type of criminal sabotage - both by those damaging key infrastructure and wasting emergency services' time, and those spreading false rumours on social media. If anyone hears the fake new perhaps correct it?https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/apr/04/uk-phone-masts-attacked-amid-5g-coronavirus-conspiracy-theory

"The 5G standard uses millimeter waves, which are a lot shorter than the wavelengths 4G uses. The shorter wavelength means 5G can carry a lot of data much faster than 4G, but it also means a much shorter range. 4G wavelengths have a range of about 10 miles. 5G wavelengths have a range of about 1,000 feet, not even 2% of 4G's range. So to ensure a reliable 5G signal, there needs to be a lot of 5G cell towers and antennas everywhere. We're talking on every lamppost, traffic light, etc. because even trees can block 5G signals."

Some EE mast info for those that want it. I guess the aim is to try and  co-locate 5G with 4G and there's articles saying 5G masts may be taller in country areas to get coverage of wider areas, and a US article suggested a higher density of masts would be required but I not sure if that's a requirement in the nature of 5G or whether its something that's anticipated to meet the growing and more stringent needs of applications and services that will use 5G. For example, the current density of masts might be sufficient for 5G to service the apps we currently use but your self drive car might get upset if the realtime mapping service gets lost when it goes behind a tall building or into an underpass?https://pedroc.co.uk/content/ee-5g-masts

As I understand it they need to be closer together than the 4g masts so ultimately there will def need to be some in Putney
