I have just read on the next door site ,that cycling will be suspended from tomorrow in Richmond park .

Perhaps cyclists and car drivers can agree that there seems to be an increase in speeding commercial vehicles (which are banned unless delivering within the park etc).

The rare times I've driven in the park it has not been cars that have driven above 20 mph, Richard, but plenty of cyclists seem to.

David, how else would they reach the car parks?

I've often wondered why car drivers are allowed to drive in Richmond Park.
David Ainsworth ● 2263d
Congratulations, Mike, on finding the few drivers who keep within the speed limit...

I've often wondered why cyclists are allowed to ride over 20 mph in Richmond Park when car drivers aren't.

Hopefully the cycling ban in Richmond park will become permanent.Absolutely had enough of many cyclists speeding and overtaking cars that are sticking to the speed limit.

Thanks, Sean, I didn't spot that one - and there always is (at least) one...
NHS staff will probably get issued with the latest penny farthing one helmet as soon as their management approve it and there is stock and budget and the planets are alligned!

Second post had Lycra! Some people clearly hate cyclists so much it is more important to them than the pandemic 🙄

It would be quite nice if the usual moaners here wouldn't keep on, endlessly, whining about cyclists. Luckily so far (and I hope this doesn't start them off) no one has repeated the tedious cliche about lycra.

"Except for NHS workers with passes!"Will they be free to ride on the pavement and through red lights in close formation?
David Ainsworth ● 2264d
Except for NHS workers with passes!May be relevant to some readers.
Of course he is, David!

"This hasn't come soon enough. When they are not on pavements or going through red lights they are often riding two abreast and not social distancing."I'll bet that Sadiq Khan is to blame for this somehow.

You see them daily side by side, knee to knee at traffic lights. Obviously thinking that the 2 meter rule in some way doesn't apply to the lycra cladded.
