UK statistics give a false impression because to date, testing has only been carried out on hospital admissions (unless you are BJ, The PoW, MH or PP). We have one of the worst comparable outcome results (death to recovery ratios) in the world. At just 22.5% recovered, patients have a a more than 3 out of 4 chance of dying. In France, that ratio is reversed with 3 out of 4 recovered. Based upon a treatment developed in China, they have been treating patients with Hydroxychloroquine + azithromycin. The French Conclusion "Despite its small sample size our survey shows that hydroxychloroquine treatment is significantly associated with viral load reduction/disappearance in COVID-19 patients and its effect is reinforced by azithromycin." The UK MRHA are evidently not prepared to accept scientific evidence from France and China since they have released a statement that says "Until we have clear, definitive evidence these treatments are safe and effective for the treatment of COVID-19, they should only be used for this purpose within a clinical trial." i.e. Delay effective treatment and allow more people to die because we are academically satisfied that we are right to withhold this treatment. Similarly, high dose, intravenous, Vitamin C has been used elsewhere and should be offered to those capable of electing to receive this treatment or permission from their next of kin be obtained if they are beyond making the decision for themselves. We have known about Vitamin C effectiveness against viral (and bacterial) infection since the 1940/50's. An issue that has been frustrating me for weeks is the lack of NHS guidance on how we can help ourselves. Vitamin D is known to support our immune system and we know that most of our population is deficient, especially at this time of year yet zero public health advice is published even though vitamin D supplements cost pennies a day. Dr John Campbell has been advocating this simple measure for many weeks in his YouTube posts. He has 577,000 subscribers and is by far the best analyst and communicator I have come across. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF9IOB2TExg3QIBupFtBDxg My best friend (who has been self isolating) called this morning to say his wife had a bad and feverish night of coughing. I know she suffers with asthma. What chance does she have in a UK hospital if her condition deteriorates? I pray that she and all those affected recover however; the reality is that their prospects are not as positive as they could be.
