Great US trade deal (or not) being negotiated by Government
Published today the official forecast document from the Department for International Trade which proudly announces that 'Britain will benefit from an ambitious and comprehensive US trade deal by £3.4 billion after 15 years' - which means the economy will be 0.16% LARGER than without one. That is a planning figure and assumes Trump will give us even this without the UK having to buy drugs for the NHS at inflated US prices and accepts US food and animal welfare standards, which to its credit and assuming we take Lis Truss' and Johnson's words for it, the Government says it will not accept. The Government has already published a similar forecast of the economic affects of us leaving the EU.Namely the economy will be 7.6% SMALLER leaving with 'no deal' and 4.9% SMALLER with a 'Canada style' deal - whatever that might mean.Weren't we clever voting to make ourselves poorer !But at least we took back control and it was not the EU making us so.And Priti of course will keep out the Poles !
