Food Delivery Bikes take over Felsham Rd. pavement.

What a shame now that the street improvements on the corner of PHS/Felsham Rd. are completed the newly widened pedestrian footpath has been taken over almost completely by food delivery bikes with their insulated containers. Up to 15 bikes at a time can be seen blocking most of the path. Most of the drivers seem to carry L-plates and many approach and exit the pavement at speed from around the various corners there showing scant regard for pedestrians, parents with children or the elderly.Approach this location with caution now!

The bikers took over the residents bays in Montserrat Road recently. I had 8 parked outside my house .All in helmets, and shouting into phones . I have asked Counsellor Torrington, who is in charge of the Copenhagen concept, what provision has been made for deliveroo bikers, and await a reply, I know the answer .. none .. Cant believe residents are paying for all this granite for deliveroo  bike park , wardens wont ticket them, on granite,  residents bays are legal ..

Reassuring to hear that the new pavements help the visually impaired. I was worried that they make the road appear less obvious as there doesn't appear to be much of a demarcation between road and pavement  and I've been caught out a couple of times - I'm probably just very unobservant but it's good to know the paving surface itself warns the visually impaired. As to the delivery bikes I hope it doesn't take a serious accident to result in action being taken. I also see them crossing the Lacy Road barrier with regular frequency.

The issue with these bikes illegally using the barrier gaps on Felsham, Lacey and Charlwood has been raised numerous times so far with the police, the council and the delivery companies themselves.  Lots of talk, no action.

I agree totally Timothy.The food delivery (Deliveroo, Uber, et.) scooter bikes are also causing a major problem speeding down Felsham and Hotham roads, much faster than the 20mph limit in addition to blocking the pavement at the junction of PHS and Felsham road. I just cannot understand the logic in all that money spent on the pedestrianization of the junction to be taken over as free scooter bike parking area for commercial operators. No real indication of what the areas function is.

It is the same people in both instances. The new pavement on PHS/Felsham St.has become the holding area where the delivery bikes wait until orders come in for the various restaurants doing deliveries. I have seen 2/3 buses delayed outside Mc.Donalds etc.by bikes parked on yellow lines.And surely motorcycles parked on a pavement are ALWAYS an obstruction  - why spend millions to put tactile paving on all our footpaths yet then allow motorcycles to become random obstructions. The point of expensive tactile paving is to help blind or partially-sighted people to recognise road crossings  but is completely negated by parked motorcycles and selfish shopkeepers placing large A-boards on our pavements, A new complication is the dumping of the new "sharing" bikes such as Lime-y anywhere on our pavements.

Are they as annoying as the high street blocking line outside McDonalds?  A traffic warden could be kept in permanent employment booking those, then walking to the no through road gaps on Felsham, Lacy and Charlwood.Wandsworth allows parking of motorcycles on the pavement as long as hey are not causing an obstruction.
