Lidl coming to the old M&S?

I was chatting to the landlord of the Jolly Gardeners at the weekend and he seemed quite certain that the old M&S was to become a Lidl. Does anyone have any relevant info on this?  Thanks.

Yes. Good idea. What reason does the Head of Estates for M and S give for not coming back as a Simply Food hall?

Nicola - did you ask  the head of estates  why there is  no Simply Food M&S in Putney? They are missing a trick. Going  further afield is  not an option for some of us who shop locally :-(

I spoke with the Head of Estates for M&S on Friday and sadly no confirmed tenant at the moment. Good to hear Lidl are finally signing.

That sounds like good news, thanks for the update. Hopefully it will involve smartening the whole side of that block up too, as the bit around the old Eddie Catz entrance is such a mess now.  Also, having something (hopefully) doing good business there will increase the chances of having something take over M&S.

Lidl are not moving to the old M and S, they are due to finally sign in next couple of weeks to take the former Halfords and The Works/Superdrug space opposite the old M and S. Fingers crossed!

I believe Lidl are moving into the old Halfords, across the road from m&s,they applied for liquor license last summer
