mistake

at the bottom of the posts forum page it gives the number of people visiting the site.  Tonight it registers as 460! Goodness me.  Most nights we are lucky to get 40!!  ( just gone up to 462  )

I’m just had the following message which sort of explains what is happening. Or does it?Dear Nick,We switched the forum to a new server recently and it appears this registers sessions on the site in a different way. The number is technically correct but it is based on allowing a longer time since the last interaction. We've always used a very conservative measure of active sessions and plan to continue to so when we can work out how to change the way this is measured on the new server.Regards,

Barbara. I've not been following it much today but I notice at one time it got to over 1,500 then sometime during the afternoon it seemed to get reset and was under 10.

really really having problems.  Read Michael's reply re 1000 viewers, then David' s followed.  Totally different subject,death of copy and paste developer which went on all day, about 14 or so replies  Can't return home.  Oddly the print is different.  larger  In the meantime viewers up to 1082  Am totally baffled

Was that addressed at me? It's up to 569 now! I can only guess, bad programming? The other locations (Chiswick, Hammersmith, etc) seem to be showing lower, more realistic, numbers ... Or perhaps Putney is just more popular :-)

Now it’s up to 479.  Why doesn’t the new PutneySW15 website show the number of visitors, it only seems to be on the old website?

Yes, Barbara, it’s gone bonkers.   I noticed it last night.  At around midnight it said there were about 182 looking at the website.  Probably more like 18. I am now making my posts on the new website and I had to sign in yet again.  Why?
