LibDems the new extreme party in UK

The LibDems have unashamedly come out as the new extreme, radicalised party of the London-elite middle-class anti-democrats. They want to divide our society beyond repair & destroy the democratic contract between People and Parliament.EU fundamentalism has no place in our society.How can she say she will never forgive Cameron for calling the referendum in the first place when here she is in this clip from parliament a couple of years ago calling for the in/out referendum herself.Utter hypocrite and embarrassment to this once great democratic country.https://www.lbc.co.uk/hot-topics/brexit/video-jo-swinson-calling-for-brexit-referendum/

And for what .........? So, as Nick charmingly put it, we can distance ourselves from those 'lazy crappy Euuropean countries'. Never mind that these countries are producing most of the medicines we are likely to be short of if we crash out without a deal.

Very sorry to hear that Lucille. Later this week my wife and I are going to a "Come drink all the alcohol in my house before I move party" being held by a young friend with US/Italian citizenship who probably would have made her life in London but feels it's now better for both personal and work reasons to be based in the EU; someone who would otherwise be contributing to the UK's economy. We also had friends who hoped to be able to spend time between the UK and France but they're having to rethink that. Fortunately, a linguist friend of ours who works in the travel industry qualifies for an Irish as will as UK passport so her essential travel around the UK won't be affects. And for what, just so the the elite like JRM, Banks et al can feed their offshore accounts from their hedge fund deals without scrutiny from regulators and tax officials ... it won't help the unemployed or those on universal benefit.

They cant have plagues Nick until they know who they're getting in bed with. Saves dumping their popular policies to get into Government. Oh they wouldn't do that would they ? Have they ? But a handful of knighthoods who knows.

*I just feel sad for all those people in the UK and other EU and EFTA countries who planned their lives around freedom of migration, travel, business, health care, etc without the hassle and costs of bureaucracy and petty restrictions.*Same here Michael and I'm just one who will be adversely affected by Brexit as I'll only be able to spend  180 days per year in Europe (90 days max at any one  time) and still don't know yet how long a visa the British Government is offering European nationals like my French partner. Oh and longer queues at passport control and (yippee) duty free goods just because some fxxxwits 'want  their country back'. This is NOT Europe's doing - this mess is entirely Britain's fault. #StopBrexit BTW I don't know how any sensible person can call the LibDems 'the new extreme party' - the new extreme parties are within the Conservative Party (the ERG) and the Brexit party (ex UKIP) as well as Momentum within Labour. Their bigoted and entrenched views on the far Right and far Left only advance the powerful, wealthy and/or narrow minded among us.

Well, many of our politicians seem to have swapped between leave and remain or vice versa... but the LinDems as a party have always been against leaving the EU (hence no referendum during the coalition) and the LibDems have just reiterated and strengthened their position as a Party, similar to the way last year the Labour Party supported another referendum at last year's conference.I will have to discuss with a LibDem friend when he returns from the LibDem conference. I don't think the LibDems come close to matching the extreme arrogance and selfishness of the ERG. I just feel sad for all those people in the UK and other EU and EFTA countries who planned their lives around freedom of migration, travel, business, health care, etc without he hassle and costs of bureaucracy and petty restrictions.

"a couple of years ago"Well, it was in 2008 - 11 years ago - maybe she has changed her mind since then? As I recall Boris used to be very Pro-EU so a change of heart is allowed by politicians.
